It did take some effort to get words right, but Frederick seemed pleased with his progress, and once Jay attempted to cast the spell he felt that distinctive hesitation all around, as though the universe was waiting on his every word, and when he was done, there was that faint wisp of pink that disappeared into nothingness as everything came back into place.

He put his notes down and checked the book in his hands.

It made sense.

"Oh my god!" He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He knew it was Greek. The letters in front of him didn't look English, they still looked Greek, but he understood them as surely as if he was reading English. "It worked! Oh my god this is amazing!"

Frederick chuckled. "Don't get too excited."

"Why not?"

The Viscount tipped his head toward all the non-English books. "Because now this means you can work your arse off."

Jay groaned.

"Bollocks."
